MORTON GROVE, Ill. — The Assyrian Food Festival returned to Morton Grove this weekend for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now in its fourth year, the two-day festival opened Saturday just outside Chicago, attracting hundreds of Assyrians and intrigued friends and neighbors on its first day. Hosted by the Assyrian Church of the East’s Midwestern U.S. diocese, the festival boasts traditional Assyrian cuisine, a variety of vendors, live entertainment and activities for young children.

The festival runs through Aug. 21 at the Morton Grove Park District.
